Mouthin’ Off Is A FREE Beatbox VST Instrument By Reflekt Audio

1

Reflekt Audio has introduced Mouthin’ Off, a freeware beatbox virtual instrument in VST, VST3, and AU plugin formats for digital audio workstation software on PC and Mac.

Mouthin’ Off is a sample-based virtual instrument featuring 164 royalty-free beatbox sounds. You know, the type of drum sounds people make with their mouths. The “boom!” kicks, the “pfft!” snares, and the “tssk!” hi-hats. These are often performed live as a backing track for freestyle rappers, but once you import them into your DAW, the experimentation possibilities are endless.

The developer recorded and edited all of the included beatbox sounds from scratch. The samples are sorted into five categories: kicks, snares, hi-hats, percussion, and sound effects. Reflekt Audio kept the recorded samples as clean and raw as possible. The user can add their own effects and processing to the beatbox sounds performed with Mouthin’ Off.

Obviously, the plugin can be used for creating beatbox-style drum beats using a MIDI sequencer. But natural drum sounds like this can also work well for layering with drum machine samples (such as our BPB Cassette Drums virtual instrument) and even acoustic drum kit sounds. You can hear how the plugin sounds in the official SoundCloud demo embedded below.

Mouthin’ Off is available for free download via Reflekt Audio’s website. The software is available as a VST, VST3, and AU plugin for 32-bit and 64-bit DAW applications.
