Serato has released Serato Studio Free, a freeware version of the Serato Studio DJing and beat-making software for Windows.
Serato Studio Free is the feature-limited, lightweight edition of Serato Studio. It is non-expiring freeware, with the ability to save and export projects. The software is available as a standalone application for Windows.
The free edition of Serato Studio comes with a limited set of features. It offers only a single audio channel (unlimited in the full version), four DJ decks (unlimited in the full version), and four scenes (32 in the full version). The audio can only be exported in MP3 format (the full version also supports WAV export and stems). Serato Studio Free doesn’t provide any automation capabilities and only includes a limited set of bundled sound packs, drum kits, and demo projects. The full version of the software also includes a free copy of iZotope Ozone Elements.
Serato Studio is the ultimate beat maker. Whether you’re a beginner, advanced producer or DJ, you can make beats or remixes in moments with loads of free built-in sounds and samples. No hardware required, with Serato Studio all you need is your laptop so you can start creating when inspiration strikes.
This version includes a completely free, feature-limited edition of Studio – including the capability to save and export projects. If you haven’t tried production but want to dip your toes in, this is perfect for you.
Serato Studio Free isn’t a full-blown digital audio workstation like Waveform Free or Cakewalk. That said, it can be a useful piece of music software for DJs and beatmakers who need a streamlined environment for creating beats, edits, and mashups.
