8DIO has released Free ASMR, a freely downloadable collection of ASMR recordings for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Free ASMR is a collection of ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) sounds recorded by over 200 sound designers. The library was created as a collaboration between 8DIO and its users. The sounds were captured by 8DIO users (every participant recorded five or more sounds) and submitted as the source material for this free sound library. 8DIO converted the recordings into a feature-packed Kontakt library with a customized user interface. The full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt is required to use Free ASMR.

Over 800 individual audio recordings are used in the library. The custom UI for Kontakt features a versatile 4-part FX engine with XY controls. There are plenty of effect types to choose from (filters, distortion, flanger, reverb, etc.), including the custom CHAOS effects modules by 8DIO.
Free ASMR is essentially a swiss-knife instrument for layering and sound design. The sounds are carefully organized into different categories, and there are many different sound types to choose from. The versatile interface based on the powerful Kontakt sound engine can be used to transform the source recordings into exciting new cinematic sounds and textures.
This isn’t the first collaborative release from 8DIO. The company has released several libraries like this one in the past, including Free Angels, Free Radicals, and Free You. However, this time everyone has the chance to download the library for free. It isn’t limited to those who participated in the project.
If you’d like to participate in creating a similar sound library, you can join 8DIO’s new Free Home project. The users are invited to submit five or more sounds recorded in their homes. 8Dio team will provide 50% of all the samples in the library and the community will provide the rest. The submission deadline is May 1st, 2020.
Free ASMR is available for free download via 8DIO. A valid email address is required to sign up for your 8DIO user account. A serial number needed to complete the download will be delivered via email.
