Both the input and output amplification stages add their own character to the signal. The user can select the noisy and clean modes for the preamp, and set the gain level to mic or line.
Soundtoys Radiator works amazingly well for adding color and depth to recordings that sound dull and lifeless. Use it to enhance recorded audio or to add some analog-style warmth to virtual instruments.
The original Altec 1567A hardware was a rack-mounted five-input tube mixer with removable transformers, a simple two-knob EQ, an unmistakable green faceplate, and a whopping 97 dB of gain. The sound, by today’s standards, is colored and gritty, with a heaping helping of good old-fashioned hardware noise. In its day, it was used on many early Motown hits and found its way into the PA racks of countless churches and school auditoriums across the USA.

onIt looks awesome, but id rather buy a similar plugin from a developer like Shattered Glass or Klanghelm as their licensing systems are quick and painless and don’t punish the customer for what a thief may do.
