Smack Pack Mini Is A FREE Hip Hop Sample Pack By Ski Beatz

Reverb releases Smack Pack Mini, an exclusive free hip hop sample pack crafted by legendary producer Ski Beatz.

David Anthony Willis, aka Ski Beatz, produced numerous records for artists like Murs (my favorite rapper), Jay Z, Fat Joe, Lil’ Kim, and Nature, among others. Active on the scene since 1986, he also released three solo albums and a couple of collaboration projects.

Smack Pack Mini is an exclusive free sample pack that features some of Ski Beatz’s go-to sounds. You’ll find a selection of drum samples captured from the SP1200 sampler, some juicy Fender Rhodes electric piano loops, and a set of background textures.

The section of the sample pack that surprised me was the collection of analog synth bass sounds and modular samples. Ski Beatz included 25 riffs and loops captured from modular synthesizers and 17 Moog bass one-shot sounds.

Unsurprisingly, those Moog bass samples sound fantastic. They are punchy, fat, and warm, just like analog bass sounds should be.

As expected, the sounds included in the Smack Pack Mini sample pack are royalty-free. So, you can download these and start using them in your beats right away.

If you’re new to Reverb, it’s one of the largest online marketplaces for music gear. It’s not easy to find real bargains on hardware synths nowadays, but Reverb occasionally launches exclusive sales, such as the recent Native Instruments Maschine blowout sale.
