Function Loops released another free sample pack. The brand new Funk Soul RnB Free Gift contains 100 MB worth of vintage loops.
Not so long ago, we cover a free vocal sample pack from Function Loops. It’s still available as a free download for those interested.
Function Loops’ latest gift brings us back to the past with vintage drum sounds of the 70s and 80s. The release is called Funk Soul RnB Free Gift, and it’s a free-to-download sample collection in 24-bit WAV format.
The pack itself is divided into two parts: loops and one-shots containing sounds like drums, fills, percussion, vocals, keys, guitars, pads, piano, synth, bass, live instruments, and vinyl recordings.
How does it sound?
The loops included in the Funk Soul RnB Free Gift are obviously anything but old and, rather, as stated, “upgraded to today’s standards.”
You clearly get the vintage vibe out of every single sample and loop in this collection. All this stuff is already processed and mix-ready, i.e. ready to drag and drop in your favorite DAW.
Let’s check out the included loop first. If you are after some fluttering keys or disco guitars, this sample pack is perfect for you.
You’ll surely find a place for this sample pack in your collection, especially if you need some vintage-sounding drums loops or fills. You might use them as an inspiration for a new project or process them creatively with some crazy resampling or slicing.
The 32 loops included in the release span between 84 and 140 BPM. Tonals are key-labeled.
As for the one-shots, you’re getting one bass, one vinyl tape sample, two claps, and 13 drum sounds (kick, snare, and a hi-hat with different flavors). Some have reverb, others are nearly dry, useable both as the main sound or for layering.
