Waves Audio SuperTap Delay Plugin Is FREE Until June 24th!

Waves Audio and YouTube personality Sky Jordxn offer the SuperTap ($29.99 sale price) delay plugin as a FREE download until June 24th. The offer expires in less than 24 hours.

SuperTap takes inspiration from analog multi-head tape delays but expands on the concept with modern features.

It’s not a very new plugin. If I remember correctly, SuperTap was introduced as part of the Waves Version 6 update in 2008.

However, it still offers plenty of functionality if you don’t mind entering Waves Audio’s update plan ecosystem.

Speaking of Waves Audio, the company was amid controversy earlier this year when it transitioned to being a subscription-only platform. Understandably, this decision was not appreciated by their users, in particular, owners of perpetual plugin licenses.

The decision was soon reverted, and Waves Audio products can now be purchased both individually or as part of a subscription. The company’s update plan remains unpopular, forcing users to pay for updates if they want to maintain full compatibility with the latest hardware and operating systems.

On the other hand, if you purchase a plugin license (or obtain it for free), you can keep using the plugin as long as it’s compatible with your DAW.

So, if you’re ready to go down that route, let’s see what SuperTap offers.

SuperTap features six delay taps with up to six seconds of delay time. The delay can be either mono or true stereo. This provides enough flexibility for creating various delay types, from short slapbacks to irregular delays and long tape-style echoes.

Things get even more interesting if we take the filters, stereo panning, and LFO modulation into account. The plugin’s Rotation control parameter lets you alter the stereo positioning of each delay repetition, resulting in a more interesting sound.

My favorite thing about SuperTap, though, is the interface. It looks very old-school, but I like it. The controls are all easy to reach, and making complex delay setups is easy as long as you put some time into it.

If you prefer instant results, SuperTap offers a variety of presets to get you started. The presets cover numerous types of delays and are categorized for easier browsing.

SuperTap is free for a limited time, courtesy of Waves Audio and Sky Jordxn. The offer expires on June 24th. I don’t know the exact expiration time, so hurry up and get your free license as soon as possible.

  1. Thanks!
I’d say free plugins creators sleep on multitap delays. They’re not hard to make(I believe), but they are very useful thing. There ReaDelay with horrible interface that takes too much time to tweak.
ChowMatrix eats too much CPU and also with interface is unfriendly.

If there was a multitap with very very fine tune time possibility it also could work as early reflections designer, chorus/flanger and such.
