W.A. Production offers the HALO 2 Lite plugin by DHPlugins as a free download until July 27th, 2023.
There is nothing more gratifying than a solid freebie. Thankfully, the fine folks at W.A. Production are giving away DH Plugins HALO 2 Lite free for a limited time.
HALO 2 Lite is a cutdown version of the full HALO 2 from DH Plugins. If you’re searching for those wonderful sounds that proliferate through DnB, then you’re well sorted.
The plugin functions as both a rompler and a synthesizer and comes with 55 presets to get things rolling.
Also included are a handful of samples, which can be great fodder for crafting your own sounds. HALO 2 Lite comes with various modulation sources, making for all sorts of wonderful movement when dialed in.
These are especially well suited for modulating the filters on HALO 2 Lite, which the presets are very keen to show off.
A fairly robust effects section is also present, with multiple algorithms for distortion, reverb, delay, and chorusing. These are all hallmarks of DnB, so it makes sense that you get access to them.
I’m a big fan of the chorus and delay. I’m a little more particular for reverbs, but HALO 2 Lite’s is perfectly fine. The phaser is also particularly good, having a wonderful syrupy to some sounds.
I’ve got the full version of HALO 2 myself and can attest to the flexibility of this particular instrument. You can rely on the well-crafted presets or roll your own. The presets have some absolutely disgusting basses, serene pads, and a few leads to help mix things up.
The pads and keys, in particular, are well-geared towards not just DnB but also genres like house and downtempo.
You’ll need to act fast if you want to snag HALO 2 Lite for yourself, as the sale ends on the 27th of July. HALO 2 Lite makes for a worthy addition to anyone’s library and is only as involved as you want it to be.
HALO 2 Lite is available for Windows and Mac computers. Supported plugin formats are VST3, AAX, and AU. It is Apple Silicon compatible, so anyone can join in the fun.
