Native Instruments Release Free Glaze Vocal Instrument For Kontakt Player

Native Instruments offers the Glaze High Gloss Vocal Instrument for free until January 14, 2024.  The regular list price for the instrument is $49.

To run Glaze, you’ll need either the free Kontakt Player or Kontakt (version 7.6 or higher).  Kontakt Player and Kontakt are both available for Windows and Mac.

To get the download, you’ll also need to create a free account on the Native Instruments website.

Glaze offers a versatile range of vocals, with pop, hip-hop, and R&B being the main focus.

Native Instruments states the instrument delivers “glossy vocal vibes on tap – from wide stacked chords and pads to leads, bass timbres and more.”

Glaze was recorded with a diverse selection of live vocalists. Native Instruments says it can do “up-front vox duties on lustrous pop and silky smooth R&B, as well as processed melodics for hip hop and trap trickery. “

The instrument was built by Native Instruments in collaboration with engineers Curtis “Sauce” Wilson and Rochad Holiday, who have credits like Dr Dre, Ariana Grande and Ne-Yo under their belt.

The pair also worked with Will Smith, so you know their beats slap hard.

Glaze originally began as a custom instrument that Wilson created for his own use to cut down the time required to record vocal harmonies, which in his productions often go to four or five-part harmony.

You can hear 14 samples of Glaze on the product page linked above to get a feel for what the instrument offers.

Glaze has 200 sounds and 148 presets of vocal parts, chords, bass, and pad sounds, as well as the ability to create custom presets.

You can also create chopped vocal lines that are mapped to scales, helping to create vocal lines with a natural feel.

While you can just go with the free Kontakt Player to run Glaze, it’s also a good time to pick up Kontakt, which is currently half-price thanks to the Native Instruments holiday sale.

Much of the Native Instruments plugins lineup is heavily discounted for the holiday sale, which finishes on January 15, 2024.

Kontakt Player and Kontakt are compatible with Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only) for Stand-alone, VST3, AU, and AAX. They are also compatible with macOS 11, 12, or 13 (64-bit only) for Stand-alone, VST3, and AAX.

We also featured the best free Kontakt libraries in a separate article. All of these run in the free Kontakt Player plugin.
