Function Loops Offers FREE Billboard Vocals Sample Collection

Function Loops released the Billboard Vocals ($17.99 value) vocal sample pack as a free download (requires a newsletter signup).

Billboard Vocals is a goodie bag of various audio content featuring vocals, instruments, and drums for modern pop production.

Despite its name, this previously paid and now free library isn’t focused exclusively on vocals. Yes, it does contain female vocals (which are always hard to find for free), but you’ll also get bass loops, drums, instrumental and music loops, fx, and one-shot samples.

All included sounds are provided in 24-bit WAV format and, most importantly, distributed 100% royalty-free. This means that you can download these free vocals and use them in your music without potential copyright issues.

We don’t know the vocalist’s name, but Function Loop stated that the singer “performed on some of the biggest stages.”

The pack includes ten full vocal acapella recordings – five are wet (with added reverb), and five are completely dry, so you can add your favorite effects. You also get 40 vocal loops, 40 drum loops, eight bass loops, and 37 instrumental loops.

Don’t be disappointed if you dislike using loops in your music. Function Loops also included 39 one-shot samples, so you’ll definitely find some interesting new sounds for your favorite sampler plugin.

We’d love to know more about the recording process, as it’s always nice to know the details, like who sang the vocals, which microphones were used, in which studio the recording took place, etc. I do hope Function Loops will start providing this type of info for their future releases.
