ToneLib has been busy recently, releasing EasyComp and updating the free TubeWarmth overdrive plugin. Now, they have updated TL NoiseReducer, their free noise reduction plugin for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
ToneLib introduced NoiseReducer in 2022 and has now released the 2.0 version.
The plugin modulates a Two-Unit Noise Reduction rack effect; the two elements of NoiseReducer are the Noise Reducer Unit and the Easy Gate Unit.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to remove unwanted noise, NoiseReducer is a simple plugin that can have a huge impact on your audio.
The Noise Reducer Unit provides the necessary controls to target problems and respond as strongly as required. The controls include Depth, Attack, Hold, Decay, and Threshold.
Although the Noise Reducer Unit doesn’t overwhelm with controls, you can simplify the process further with Auto Mode.
With Auto Mode engaged, the entire effect of the unit is controlled with the single Threshold slider.
The Easy Gate unit is a one-knob unit based on the NoiseGate guitar pedal and responds primarily to the guitar’s frequency range.
The single Sensitivity knob is all you need to dial in the gate effect. Easy Gate features two modes, Hard and Soft; Hard mode significantly increases the sensitivity of the effect.
With Auto Mode on the Noise Reducer Unit, you have two powerful units responding to a single control each.
NoiseReducer v2.0 is optimized for more efficient CPU usage and provides more stable performance than ever.
The update includes a GUI redesign featuring a new compact view display mode and an animated visual display update.
ToneLib has improved the general workflow by updating the preset storage system and preset manager. The developer also addressed several minor bugs that occurred on certain systems, mainly related to display/GUI issues.
ToneLib offers free trials (14 or 30 days, depending on the product) for paid products, and at the time of writing, you can get up to 60% off premium products like TL Multicomp or TL Detuner.
NoiseReducer is available in 64-bit AU, VST, and VST3 formats for macOS (10.13 and higher), Windows (Vista, 7, 8, 10, 11), and Linux (Ubuntu 18 or higher).

onThanks for sharing! Unfortunately, this new version freezes Reaper (Windows 10 Pro 64bit) when loading the plugin (VST2 or VST3). The older version didn’t have any issues. I’ve written to ToneLib to let them know. I hope they can fix this with an update.

onI’ve been enjoying both the Noise Reducer and the BassDrive. Unfortunately, both updates cause Studio One 6 (Windows) to freeze as soon as I select the plugin. I already contacted ToneLib support regarding BassDrive 2.10 (have not heard back). I overwrote the working versions – maybe I’ll get the old ones from a backup.

onAgree with the other comments on this. The plugin freezes Reaper as soon as you try to load it. I also notified the provider and likewise, have heard nothing from them. The standalone version seems to work ok when launched (Windows 11 64 bit). But that’s not really of any interest to me.
