The Crow Hill Company has rebranded for season two by relaunching the popular Vaults series.
I think we all know the story of The Crow Hill Company by now, but since we’re entering season two, here’s a quick recap.

Christian Henson’s current project has its genesis in his departure from another, Spitfire Audio.
Spitfire Audio’s LABS series was a go-to resource for high-quality free sounds among bedroom producers everywhere, until one word changed everything: subscription.
Christian Henson launched The Crow Hill Company in late 2023 and introduced the Vaults series as a way to give back to the community in the way LABS used to.
The Vaults series operates with a one-in, one-out policy, which means once a vault is gone, it’s truly gone.
Standout performances from season one came from Wavering Choir, Solo Bodhran, and Amp Bass.
OK, so one word didn’t change everything; I’ve applied some creative liberty for dramatic effect. You can still get some great free stuff from LABS, but the redesigned interface and subscription model certainly changed the general sentiment among fans.
By all accounts, it appears that The Crow Hill Company has had a successful start to life, but Christian felt something was missing.
After taking some time to assess the company’s performance and position, Crow Hill’s founder concluded that it had somewhat drifted away from being a guiding light for creators and closer to being just another online sample store.
The rebrand includes a new website design, educational resources, composer challenges, and a new YouTube content plan.
It also includes a fairly significant change to the Vaults series.
The rebrand promises new and improved versions of the Vaults instruments, and previously removed Vaults will return from the archives as donationware. All revenue from the donationware goes directly to the Love Music charity.
Each donationware instrument costs £3, and Love Music is a charity that does some fantastic work.
It’s a nice way to pick up Vaults you missed along the way or recommend them to others, knowing that they are still available.
Currently available donationware Vaults include Attic Grand, R + D Strings, and Chorus Synth.
