From JB Project Studio comes Auralizer, a free stereo image processor for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
JB Project Studio is a recording studio based in Viterbo, Italy, offering everything from artistic guidance and arrangement to mixing and mastering.
Auralizer is a free plugin developed by JB Project Studio to replicate acoustic physics concepts used in the studio.
The plugin is free to download and available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Auralizer adds width and impact to your mix by utilising the Hilbert Transform technique to enhance the perception of three-dimensional space.

The Hilbert Transform technique, developed by the highly influential German mathematician David Hilbert, is often applied in audio to split mono signals into wide stereo fields.
The benefit of this technique is that you can let the sound breathe in a way that sounds organic, without any nasty side effects or compromising mono compatibility.
In this case, Auralizer phase-rotates the mid signal by 90 degrees using high-quality FIR filters and injects it directly into the side.
This process creates the 3D Aura effect at the heart of the plugin.
You also have the 3D Focus control to add a delay to the 3D Aura signal.
Although the 3D Aura effect is the heart of the plugin, I think the delay is what is most interesting.
3D Focus has two modes: Standard and Extend.
Standard mode offers mastering-grade accuracy with a delay ranging from 0-3ms.
Extend mode provides longer delay times up to 15ms and allows you to use stereo image processing more creatively. The extended delay lets you distinctly alter the character of a sound rather than just think about how it sits in the mix.
In addition to the 3D controls, the Wide knob boosts the volume for the side signal.
The last controls are for high/low-pass filters, so you can define a specific processing range.
While we’re talking about stereo image processing, don’t forget the special intro offer on Stereovault by Mastering the Mix is available until June 3, 2026 (get Stereovault plus one free plugin for $80).
Vibe-coded plugins have been a hot and contentious topic recently, and even though AI was utilised in the creation of Auralizer, the developer wanted to be clear that the plugin is rooted in audio engineering concepts and precision calculations.
JB Project Studio built Auralizer using JUCE and primarily used AI for interface design and basic drafting.
