Plugin Boutique is offering Celemony’s Melodyne 5 Essential for $24 until June 30, 2026. The regular price is $99, so this is a 75% discount.
The same promotion also includes Melodyne 5 Assistant for $71 instead of $248. That one is still a bigger purchase, but it is a nice discount if you know you need more than the basic Melodyne toolkit.
We featured the best free autotune plugins on BPB, but I’ve realized that Melodyne is an upgrade that finds its way into every producer’s studio at some point.
I’m pretty sure the intuitive workflow is the main reason for this. It looks like a typical audio editor, but instead of editing a waveform like a regular audio file, you work with note blobs and adjust pitch, timing, and other musical details more directly.
Melodyne 5 Essential is the entry-level version, and it gives you the basic pitch and timing editing functions, Celemony’s Main Tool, the Melodic algorithm with sibilant detection, plus Percussive and Universal algorithms.
You also get the Chord Track and Chord Grid with automatic chord recognition, which can help when you are matching vocal notes or other monophonic material to the harmony of a song.
For basic vocal tuning, timing cleanup, and learning the Melodyne workflow, Essential is the obvious starting point. It is also cheaper to upgrade later because Celemony lets you pay only the difference if you move to a higher edition.
The limitation is that not every feature shown on the Melodyne product page is included in Essential. It’s definitely worth noting that the Fade Tool and Sibilant Tool are not part of Melodyne 5 Essential.
That is where the Assistant offer becomes more interesting if you need those extra features.
Melodyne 5 Assistant adds the complete vocal-editing toolkit for pitch, timing, vibrato, phrasing, formants, and dynamics. It also includes macros for intonation, timing quantization, and leveling, plus tempo detection and inspectors for quicker access to parameters.
If you only need occasional pitch correction or want the lowest-cost way into Melodyne, Essential at $24 makes sense.
However, if you regularly edit vocals and want deeper control over formants, dynamics, sibilants, phrasing, and timing, Assistant is the better long-term buy while it is discounted.
One note about the Assistant offer. Plugin Boutique says you receive a Melodyne Essential serial and an upgrade serial for Melodyne Assistant. You need to register the Essential serial first, then register the Assistant upgrade.
Both versions support VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone operation, with ARA integration in compatible DAWs.
