ArnieWaves has released AudioTeleporter, a DAW plugin for streaming your mix to a remote listener through a browser link.
We have covered a few remote collaboration and monitoring tools before, including Ginger Audio Authentic Audio and Audiomovers Omnibus. AudioTeleporter is in a similar world, but the big draw here is the free tier and the much lower monthly pricing.
I also like the simplicity. You basically put AudioTeleporter on your master bus, a stem, or any bus you want to send, press start, choose the streaming quality, and copy the listener link. The other person opens it in a browser, with nothing to install and no account needed on their side.
That makes it crazy useful for stuff like quick mix checks, client feedback, remote production sessions, or just catching your DAW audio somewhere else, like your car, for example (the one speaker test that always disappoints me).
I think that the free tier is actually usable, even though it is limited to one listener and Opus at 64 kbps.
Yes, 64 kbps is low quality, so this is not the setting for approving a master. But for checking a rough mix on a phone or sending a quick idea to someone while the session is still open, I can see it being handy.
The paid plans are also priced fairly if this type of workflow matters to you. Basic is €3.99/month and supports five listeners with Opus 256 kbps, while Pro is €5.99/month and supports up to 20 listeners with lossless FLAC at 48 kHz. Yearly billing includes two months free, and the developer says you can cancel anytime.
And to be honest, AudioTeleporter does not try to be a full collaboration suite or anything complex. It sends audio one way, so you will still need a phone call, video call, or chat running alongside it if you want talkback. It also does not record the session, and it is not meant for musicians playing together in real time.
Still, as a lightweight way to move your DAW audio to someone else, or even to your own phone or laptop, it works pretty well.
AudioTeleporter is available for macOS and Windows. The macOS version comes in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, while the Windows version is available as VST3.
