Evenant Music has released Cinematic Textures, a freely downloadable cinematic sound library in WAV format.

Cinematic Textures contains 136 audio samples in total. The audio material is organized into two main categories: individual and assembled. The “individual” category contains single-layer sounds. These sounds were combined to create the more complex cinematic textures which are located in the “assembled” category.

The “individual” samples are mostly stringed instruments that were processed with atmospheric reverb and modulation effects. There are some electronic and synthesized sounds added to the mix as well. The samples are labeled with root note information so they’re easy to layer harmonically with other melodic content. There are 76 “individual” samples in total.

The “assembled” samples are more complex and sonically exciting. They are composed of the “individual” samples which were layered together and processed with reverb. The library contains 60 “assembled” sounds.

Cinematic Textures offers a great selection of melodic ambient textures. The included sounds are well-made and nicely organized for easy browsing. According to the information on the product page, some of these sounds were used in recent HBO campaigns.

The library only includes WAV files and doesn’t offer any virtual instrument presets. You can download the included WAV samples in any free sampler VST plugin or digital audio workstation.

Cinematic Textures can be downloaded for free via Evenant Music. A valid email address is required to get the download link.
