Waveshaper has released VCO Drums VOL1, a free collection of electronic drum samples made using analog synthesizers.
VCO Drums is the first Waveshaper release in over four years. The VCO Drums collection consists of three volumes. The first volume is free, the second one is donationware (the donations go to Fondation de France to support medical research), and the third pack can be purchased for $5,90 at Bandcamp.

The sounds were crafted using various analog synthesizers, drum machines, filters, raw oscillators, and other hardware gear. Waveshaper didn’t provide a detailed list of the hardware that was used. However, the cover image shows that analog classics like the Korg MS-20, Roland SH-101, and MFB Microzwerg are responsible for some of the included sounds.
The other two volumes contain additional drum samples that were crafted using similar techniques. In general, fans of raw electronic drum sounds and analog hardware will undoubtedly enjoy this excellent collection of one-shot drum hits.
