Honoring Florian has released Honoring Florian, a collection of audio loops, Ableton Live drum racks, and Roland TR-8S released in honor of Kraftwerk’s founding member Florian Schneider who recently passed away.

Honoring Florian is a tribute to Florian Schneider, the founding member of Kraftwerk who passed on April 21st this year. The library was released in honor of Florian’s music legacy and his massive influence on electronic music. The included loops, presets, and Ableton devices replicate Mr. Schneider’s sound design methods and esthetics, with instantly recognizable analog percussion sounds.

The library, available for free download from the Symplesound website, includes an Ableton Drum Rack (compatible with Ableton Live Intro), a Roland TR-8S drum kit, and a collection of eighteen drum loops in WAV format. The included drum loops were made using the included Ableton Live devices and the TR-8S drum kit. The loops can be used in any digital audio workstation.

Here is how Francis Preve of Symplesound describes the library and its theme:

It’s not a stretch to say that Florian Schneider helped create the template for much of the electronic music we listen to today, so I wanted to honor his legacy with this free pack for the fans. What’s most striking about Kraftwerk’s music is that from Autobahn (1974) to Tour De France (1983) nearly all of their drum sounds were created using analog synths and sequencers, not drum machines. So the drums in these packs were also synthesized in my studio, then sampled and used to create the libraries.

You can download the Honoring Florian sound library completely free of charge via Symplesound. A valid email address is required to complete the checkout process. Mailing list subscription is optional.
