Audio Plugin Deals is having a promotion where you can get Arturia’Analog Lab Play and Cryptic Soundscapes for free.
Arturia is a big name in the world of music production, with a wide variety of products. MIDI controllers, synths, virtual instruments, FX, and more.
And Analog Lab Play is the free tier of their powerful sound engine, Analog Lab where you can find a variety of sounds ranging from emulations of analogue synths to pianos, organs, and beyond.

We have previously covered Analog Lab Play on BPB, and it’s great to see more free sounds becoming available to music creators. Today, let’s dive into Cryptic Soundscapes.
Cryptic Soundscapes is a sound bank from Arturia and runs in Analog Lab Play. It contains 50 sounds ranging from pads to sequences, drums and more.
The sounds are dark and atmospheric, geared towards genres like ambient and cinematic music.
As with other Analog Lab sound banks, you don’t get to create the sounds from scratch.
Instead, you can pick from premade sounds but still have a good amount of macro control over things like Timbre, LFOs, and FX.
This can be great if you have a rough of the tone you want but not the know-how on how to create it. Or if you’re looking for a specific instrument but don’t have the money to spend on a whole new sample library.

Here is a user demo where you can see Cryptic Soundscapes in action. As you can see, there are a variety of presets well suited for creating ambient music.
One of my favorite presets out of the 32 available is Heavenly Sweep. It has this dream-like vibe, which would be great for creating a spacy atmosphere.
The Big Finish preset is also similar but more gritty-sounding if that’s what you’re into. Chaotic Drums is another very interesting patch with a big drum sound and a long feedback delay.
Additionally, there are some really lovely Choir patches, which personally remind me of ambient artists like Aphex Twin.
Cryptic Soundscapes runs as a sound library in Arturia Analog Lab Play, which you can get for free for Windows and macOS in VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone formats.
