Dear Reality’s Exoverb Micro reverb plugin is now permanently available as freeware.
The plugin is a macOS and Windows release available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
Dear Reality gave away the Exoverb Micro several times last year in limited-time promos, but this time around, they transitioned it fully to a freeware release.
The German developer describes the release as a reverb plugin with enhanced spatial perception.

The Exoverb Micro is the little brother of Dear Reality’s Exoverb release, which is available for $99.
The freeware version offers eight reverb sounds, while the full version packs 50 sounds and much deeper reverb customization choices.
The Exoverb Micro includes the following controls: Preset selector, Predelay, Decay, Input, Output and the triangle balancing pad.
The paid Exoverb includes all of the above and two additional sections. These two sections together allow you to control the reverb size, timing, frequency, and gain in much more detail via 12 additional parameters.
Both versions of the plugin share the same reverb engine and offer a resizable interface.
The signature feature of Exoverb Micro is the triangle pad, designed to allow you to intuitively balance late reverberation, early reflections, and dry signals.
The freeware version of the plugin is a good little option if you want a pro-quality reverb that offers a distinctive way of controlling the reverb sound via the triangle pad.
The freebie is not uber deep on customization options, but if you want something simple that can get you some basic verb sounds cooking without too much fiddling about, then it’ll do the trick nicely.
Unfortunately, the official Exoverb Micro YouTube video from Dear Reality does not really show the sounds or operation of the plugin properly and only really shows off the look of the interface.
However there are several user demos for the Exoverb Micro on YouTube that show off the sound of the plugin on different sources, so if you want to hear it in action, then I reckon that’d be the best way to do it.

The process to get the freebie is a tad fiddly, with several steps involved.
Hit the ‘Get it for free’ button on the product page to start the process. After clicking it I was prompted to sign up for the mailing list, which is mandatory to get the download.
After you subsequently confirm your email address from your email inbox, you’ll get an Exoverb Micro voucher code in your inbox within a few seconds.
You’ll then need to create an account on the Dear Reality website, where you can activate your voucher code, after which they’ll email you a download link for the plugin.
