Boom Library just announced that the StereoLab giveaway is back in motion, with 20,000 free licenses available. Unless the free licenses are depleted earlier, the giveaway will end on October 24th.
This announcement comes roughly a week after the initial StereoLab giveaway, which was plagued by technical issues. This left many users without a free license, as Boom Library’s website was trying to cope with the (obviously unexpected) high amounts of traffic.
Our comments section was filled with negative reactions, which wasn’t surprising, considering many users were left empty-handed after trying to get a free copy of StereoLab.
While some BPB readers managed to claim a free license while the Boom Library website was still operational, many others either couldn’t finalize the checkout or simply didn’t receive a free license due to server timeouts.
Hopefully, things will run smoother this time. Boom Library makes some of the best plugins and sample libraries on the market, and chances are the second attempt at the giveaway will be much better than the first.
In case you missed the first announcement, here’s a quick look at StereoLab.
StereoLab is a stereo imaging plugin for sound design and music production. It features four key modules: Widen, Stereo, M/S (Mid/Side), and Width, each allowing detailed stereo manipulation.
The modules can be rearranged freely, so it’s easy to customize the signal flow according to your needs. I love it when multi-effect plugins make it possible to rearrange the effects, as the order in which an effect is applied is often crucial, especially when working with stereo processing.
The included modules are pretty straightforward. The Widen module creates a side signal without affecting the mid, while the M/S module enables motion and depth by adjusting mid and side elements.
The Stereo module offers control over left/right panning, delay, and balance. Width allows for independent control of low and high-frequency stereo width. A built-in vectorscope provides visual feedback on the stereo effects in real-time.
StereoLab will cost $89 after the free promo ends. The effect is available in 64-bit AU, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows.
Thanks to BPB reader PureFire for the info about the Boom Library StereoLab relaunch.

onCrow hill has a £15gbp coupon code for their birthday (birthday15), which means you can get cosmos or their demon drop #001 free (both £10), or of course get £15 off a purchase.

onthanks! i got cosmos just now

onNice, hopefully the site doesn’t crash this time. We clearly all have that one dude to thank for these new licenses, the one who contacted the Mainz public prosecutor’s office.

onLOL! I had a good chuckle coming across that post back in the first article. Thanks for reminding me of it & giving me yet another chuckle! XD
samers
onlmao i definitely thought the same!

onI successfully managed to snag this the first time around (with a lot of patience!). But this do-over is definitely a good PR move on their part, which deserves commendation! :)

onAbsolute joy. I have already shared it with the Wettbewerbszentrale in Munich for positive acclaim. My friend from the audio engineering team in Mainz is also verifying the plugin’s outstanding quality. The overwhelming response has been so positive that the company can bask in the praise. This notice will be published on the internet in all languages so that music producers who haven’t discovered it yet can join the celebration. As I said, the Mainz audio engineers are on it. You can also contact me directly, and I’ll pass on the rave reviews to my friend. It’s fantastic that in your bid to win new customers, you enhance their work without overloading servers.

onInfelizmente o problema continua. Feita inscrição, baixado o plugin, colocado no ILOK, mas não roda. Desisto.

onThanks T, BPB & Boomlibrary, hopefully those who missed it before will be able to benefit from Boomlibrary’s generosity this time and be able to enjoy the plugin, good on BL making this available again 🙏

onThanks as always! :)

onNeeds iLok, so that’s a no from me.
TenorSaxophone
onI don’t get these posts, ILok is free and it’s just a click to activate. Is it because of the single user bit, or is it worse on Windows?
Martin
onI don’t get this iLok-phobia either. I mean, I can understand when you need the physical key, but why all this hate when it’s just the free account?
samers
ondespite having gotten a license last time, i feel like getting another, just to mess with somebody. maybe i get sued, or reported as well??!?!?!?

onKudos to them for fixing their site, that was a mess the first time around, now it was really smooth.
I got the license, but from the demos I can’t say the plugin is incredibly unique, unless I’m wrong and not seeing/understanding those truly unique features.
Jaded
onYeah its pretty mid lol, I wouldnt be surprised if most of the people who grabbed the licenses are just planning to resell them later when it will not be free for like 5 bucks or something, not even using them
Bob Law
onIt functions just as your stock stereo plugin would for any DAW nowadays.
Bob Law
onAnyone who has been in the Studio industry has to already deal with iLok so we all already have dozens of licenses managed. It doesn’t make sense why people get so butt hurt all the time.
Robin
onCredit to Boom Library for, ahem, reissuing the freebie. Having used it on a few ambient synth tracks (after the reverb) it adds a spaciousness which is very useful and responds well to automation. Re: iLok, I don’t mind on free software, but I do have homicidal feelings when I think of the $25 they charge for transfers, my unused Eventide plugins will never see a new home, which is a shame, and puts people off buying them.
Bob
onLifeline Space is free at Plugin Boutique with the code BPFREEPLUGIN1
It’s the reverb module from Lifeline Expanse.
Tomislav Zlatic
onCool, thanks Bob! Did Plugin Boutique share this somewhere?
Bob
onI read about it on the Cakewalk forums but don’t know the source. All I know is it’s a Beatport promo of some kind.
Tomislav Zlatic
onThanks, I’ll look into it!
