Developer Melda Productions has released the free MDelay and announced an update to all Melda plugins.
The update includes the launch of a brand-new freebie, MDelay.
MDelay is now the 38th plugin that Melda Productions has added to the free MFreeFXBundle.

Melda Productions is the developer behind plugins like MDynamicEQ (one of the most popular releases) and the more recent MCenter mid-side plugin.
Along with plenty of limited-time freebies and discounts, Melda Productions offers MFreeFXBundle as the largest free plugin suite on the market.
You can download MDelay and the rest of the MFreeFXBundle using the MPluginManager.
MDelay is MDelayMB’s little brother, but despite its little brother status, it boasts an impressive feature set.
Throughout 2024, we’ve seen some creative free delay plugins, like AudioThing’s Moon Echo, Davisynth’s Ripple Delay, and Witch Pig’s Bangkok Ping Pong Delay.
With MDelay, Melda Productions promises the most powerful free delay plugin ever.
MDelay features two independent tap units with dedicated Sync settings, Parallel/Serial modes, and three delay types.
In Serial Mode, MDelay processes the second delay tap through the output of the first.
One of the main benefits of having two independent delay taps in MDelay, besides more control over complex delays, is the ability to create evolving patterns using the Shuffle control.
Shuffle introduces rhythmic shuffling between the two delay taps.
The three available delay modes are Default, Classic, and Ping-Pong.
The difference between Default and Classic modes is that the first echo is feedback-dependent in Default Mode, while in Classic Mode, the first echo is independent of feedback settings.
Ping-Ping Mode produces echoes that alternate between the left/right channels, ideal for creating ultra-wide ambient sounds.
You also have two delay algorithms available: Tape Mode and Modern.
Tape Mode has a vintage character with some pitch-altering echoes as little imperfections, and Modern delivers a clean digital delay.
Additionally, MDelay features multiple filter types/modes (HP/LP/Resonance – Input Filter/Feedback Filter) and a built-in Saturation effect to add warmth.
As free plugins go, MDelay is pretty stacked, covering everything from subtle delay to experimental sound design territory.
MDelay is available in AU, VST, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows.
