Karanyi Sounds has made the Technocolor saturation and colorizer plugin available for just $1 until November 9, 2024, which is a 97% reduction from the list price of $39.
This 24-hour deal is the latest in a series of big flash sales from the developer throughout autumn.
Technocolor is a macOS and Windows 64-bit-only release for VST3 and AU formats.
The saturation and colourizer plugin now offers more than 40 DSP algorithms which the dev says can add an old-school vibe to your synths and guitars, or some grit into vocals, bass and drums.
There are also 18 factory and artist presets to kick off your sonic explorations.
Technocolor has a compact, no-frills design that is very similar to Karanyi Sounds’ Vapor Dimension and Poly Space plugins.
The only creative parameter you have to work with is the central Control dial, which allows you to control the character of the effects and interacts differently with the available DSP algorithms.
The rest of the controls are more utilitarian, and the scheme is rounded out by the following controls: Preset selector, In, Out, Dry/Wet, and Random.
The latter control is a smart Random feature. This is designed to give a quick dose of inspiration and is shared by other Karanyi Sounds plugins.
Technocolor’s tone is inspired by retro samplers, tape machines, and radios. The developers aim to allow users to get the analog warmth that such tools are known for or ramp up the intensity for a gritty tone.
The plugin supports most major DAWs, and the devs provide a list of compatible DAWs on the product page.
However, the devs also specifically point out that Pro Tools and Maschine are not supported, for some reason.
This seems like quite a curious exception to me, given how large the Pro Tools market share is.
The entire Karanyi Sounds inventory of plugins is on sale for Black Friday, with the majority of deals ranging from 20% to 61%.
The developer offers a range of synths, Kontakt instruments, and effects as part of the sale.

The third lightweight plugin from Karanyi Sounds, Vapor Dimension, is also on sale. However, that deal is not quite as drastic, as they’ve dropped it by 51% from $39 to $19.
