Potato Audio, seemingly a new developer, has released a new plugin called CHOPLIFTER, and with that, they are kindly doing an exclusive promotion for BPB readers.
CHOPLIFTER is a “creative multi-band audio gate sequencer” for Ableton Live, which you can get for 30% off for a limited time.

CHOPLIFTER allows you to process the input signal across 3 frequency bands, each with its own gate sequencer.
Each band can actually be assigned to a separate output channel, which can be great for more involved mixing options.
Unlike a standard gate sequencer, which processes all frequencies the same way, CHOPLIFTER’s multiband functionality lets you generate unique rhythmic ideas for your songs.
All bands (or layers, as they’re called in CHOPLIFTER) work the same way.
You can draw in any pattern you like and change the step length and number of steps independently in each layer. Each layer has a nudge arrow and randomizer for the gate pattern.
CHOPLIFTER also allows you to adjust the crossover frequencies and output gain for each layer.
There is some global processing you can do to further enhance the sound of this plugin.
A global amp envelope is available so you can shape how the gate closes and opens with an adjustable curve.
You also have a filter module that controls the width and harmonic saturation of the layers, with each layer’s filter cutoff being its selected frequency.
The filter includes 5 types (Original, Clean BP, Clean LBH, Moog BP, or Moog LBH) and 5 “mixer styles” (DJM, Evo4, X:42, Rane, DDM) so that gives you a whole bunch of customization.
Finally, there is a global randomizer and a “preset switcher” where you can store and recall up to 16 patterns; the latter can also be activated via MIDI.
CHOPLIFTER is available exclusively for Ableton Live Suite 10 and up currently. It also requires Max4Live.
However, a VST (Windows) and AU (Apple) version will be released in the coming months, so stay tuned for that as well.
