IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube 5 CS gear giveaways are back in 2025! For May, the company is giving away three high-gain amps and a Tube Screamer-style pedal to users of the free guitar and bass workstation.
During May, AmpliTube 5 CS users can score the following freebies: the Custom Modern Hi-Gain head and cab, the German 34 head and cab, the Metal Lead V head, and the OverScream pedal.
No doubt this lineup will be a big hit with rockers and metalheads!
The Custom Modern Hi-Gain head and cab is based on a “classic AmpliTube model.” The modern tube-style amp features a truckload of gain for nasty riffing.
The German 34 head and cab is based on the Bogner Ecstasy XTC 3534. This amp provides a boutique sound powered by EL34 tubes, and can provide anything from tasty cleans to searing distortion, and is more known for the latter.
The Metal Lead V head is based on Eddie Van Halen’s Peavey 5150. I guess the global supply chain issues have now hit the digital realm since the Metal Lead V is the only one without a matching cab included.
I’m sure guitarists can overlook that, though, as the 5150 is capable of some truly crushing high-gain tones.
Last but not least is the OverScream, which is based on Ibanez’s classic Tube Screamer overdrive stomp.
The virtual version exactly replicates the original pedal’s control scheme, which is much loved for its ability to give a dirty amp the push needed to make it slice through the mix, particularly on leads and solos.
IK Multimedia gave a ton of gear away for its monthly freebies in 2024, so it’s great to see the promos continue in 2025.
The company is also entering everyone who installs AmpliTube 5 CS in 2025 into its end-of-year giveaway. This features three sets of prizes, featuring hardware giveaways such as the Axe I/O, iRig HD X, and more.

As with last year, IK Multimedia has restricted this month’s freebies to new users who signed up for AmpliTube 5 CS during May.
There is a workaround that allows existing users to pick up the freebies. Thanks again to the BPB readers who outlined this process.
I haven’t tested this with the 2025 giveaways, but I assume it will continue to work, as after all, it’s just a continuation of last year’s giveaways.
To score the freebies as an existing user, open the IK Multimedia Product Manager, unauthorize AmpliTube 5 CS, and then re-authorize it. Clicking on ‘refresh your purchases’ can also help here.
BPB readers report that this method only works if your current device is the only one that has Amplitube 5 CS authorized on it.
If you have a dead device with an old authorization of Amplitube 5 CS still on it, unfortunately, there does not appear to be any way to work around that roadblock.
