Universal Audio’s PolyMAX usually costs around $199, but for a limited time, you can download this outstanding synth plugin for free.
You might be experiencing a feeling of déjà vu, and that’s because Plugin Boutique offered PolyMAX as a freebie in February last year.
The difference between the two offers is that Plugin Boutique offered PolyMAX free with any purchase, and this time, it’s free!
You don’t need to purchase anything; the only catch is that the offer ends on June 30th, 2025, so don’t miss it.
As I’ve said previously, I have PolyMAX and am a big fan of the sound and straightforward workflow.

Universal Audio describes PolyMAX as a “modern synth with retro roots,” and that’s a pretty fair description. It delivers authentic vintage-inspired sounds with analog-modeled oscillators and filters, along with a modern, user-friendly interface.
People often talk about the world-class presets included with PolyMAX, and rightly so, but it’s not all about the presets.
There are plenty of ways to make the sound your own, including white/pink noise layers, syncable oscillators, filter/amp envelopes, and LFO modulation.

You also get a built-in arpeggiator and excellent FX, including a vintage spring reverb, tape delay, phaser, flanger, and chorus.
If presets aren’t your style, you can certainly craft distinct sounds with PolyMAX.
However, if you don’t mind using presets, the PolyMAX presets are as radio-ready as you’re likely to hear, and that’s where the plugin shines.
Last time we covered PolyMAX, I mentioned Nicholas Semrad, and if you like the typical sound of pads and stabbing synth chords used by keyboardists like Nicholas or Justin Stanton, you’ll love PolyMAX.
The immediacy with which it produces record-ready sounds makes it worth the investment, and when it’s free, it’s a no-brainer.
It’s a dream synth for jazz-funk, fusion, retro pop, and cinematic projects.
PolyMAX is available in AU, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS 10.15 upwards, and Windows (10 and 11).
Sticking with the retro, vintage synth vibe, we had another awesome freebie this week from Fracture Sounds: Electric Strings for Kontakt Player, which offers the sound of the 70s and the Solina electric string synth.
Check out the deal: PolyMAX (FREE until June 30th)
