Dystopian Waves has made DroX II Pro, its glitch and stutter audio effect, free for a limited time on Gumroad.
The Pro version is currently listed as $0+ and 100% off, down from its regular $35 price. I do not see an expiry date on the Gumroad page, so it is probably best to grab it sooner rather than later if you are interested in plugins capable of some serious glitchy stuff.
We covered the basic Drox II plugin back in November 2025 when Dystopian Waves released it as a free plugin. Before that, Drox II was available as a Max for Live device, so it has already gone through a couple of useful versions.
DroX II Pro takes that same idea into a more advanced real-time glitch processor with four engines that can run independently or together. If you are into glitchy effects, stutters, sudden dropouts, CD-skip-style jumps, and tape stop tricks, this is pretty cool.
The Dropout engine chops or mutes the incoming audio for rhythmic glitch effects, with tempo sync and manual triggering available. Jump simulates tape or CD skipping, creating abrupt forward or backward movement in the audio buffer.
Tape Stop, unsurprisingly, handles classic slowdown effects, with adjustable start and stop times, tempo sync, and modulation options for more experimental pitch and rate changes.
The main attraction for me, though, is the Stutter engine. It offers per-repeat processing, including pitch shift, pitch spread, pitch bend, vibrato, FM-style modulation, distortion, filtering, panning, reverb, envelope shapes, sequencing, and randomization.
It turns DroX II Pro into a tool that’s perfect for rhythmic design, and I especially like it on cinematic synth loops and glitchy percussive sequences.
There is also a snapshot system for saving module settings and recalling them instantly, with support for triggering snapshots from the DAW piano roll or an external MIDI controller. Global presets and sequencer configurations can also be saved and recalled.
DroX II Pro download includes a Windows VST3 plugin, an AMXD Max for Live device, and the user manual.
