It’s Dangerous Drums – 5 Free Drum Kits By Marco Scherer

Marco Scherer has released a set of free drum kits from his brand new commercial release called It’s Dangerous Drums, a collection of heavy electronic drum samples for use in dubstep, electro, techno, industrial and similar music styles.

The free version of the pack contains five drum kits (with 16 samples per kit, meaning that there are 80 drum samples in total) from the full version of the product. In addition to the free samples, the pack features kit presets for popular sampler formats including FXpansion Geist and Geist Lite, Native Instruments Maschine, Native Instruments Battery and Ableton Live. The download also includes the individual samples in WAV format (in the Maschine and Battery kits folder) which can be used in pretty much any sampler or DAW.

These are some very hard hitting drum samples which you’ll most certainly find useful if you produce dubstep, electro and similar styles of electronic music. According to the description on the download page, the samples started off as acoustic drum hits that were layered with electronic drums and then mangled with outboard gear and heavily compressed into their final punchy shape. I really liked the processing job done on these sounds. They are very compressed, but in a good way.

The freebie pack is available for direct download from the product page linked below. The full version of It’s Dangerous Drums is priced at €5.99 and it contains 20 full drum kits with 320 drum sounds in total.
