Tunecraft Sounds have announced the release of Cinematic Synths for Serum, a freely downloadable (for a limited time only) soundset for the Xfer Serum wavetable software synthesizer.
The company describes Cinematic Synths for Serum as a preset library suitable for music production, cinematic composition, trailers, film scores, and sound design applications. It is a versatile collection of Serum patches that are mainly inspired by cinematic sound design.See also: Best FREE Music Production Software
The soundset includes a total of 85 royalty-free presets for Xfer’s flagship virtual synthesizer. More specifically, there are three arps, three atmospheres, sixteen braams, ten sound effects and percussion sounds, eleven drones, three pads, 33 sequences, and six synths. The download also comes with a set of custom wavetables and noises.
The sounds will instantly remind you of epic movie soundtracks from well-known composers and sound designers like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and Howard Shore. In addition to the base sound, each preset includes macros for quick control over essential parameters for achieving a broader sonic palette.
Along with being a rich library of complex cinematic sounds, this preset pack presents the opportunity to study the synthesis of some exciting sounds within Serum. The excellent sound quality is also a given, as Serum is notable for being as close to a mathematically perfect-sounding synthesizer as it can be. Also, even if you don’t own Xfer Serum, you can still download the library and check out the included noise samples which can be used in any sampler plugin.
Cinematic Synths for Serum is a free download for a limited time only. A valid email address is required to receive the download link. Once the free period passes, the soundset will be sold for EUR 24. Note that Serum version 1.286 or higher is required to use the presets from the pack.
