Turnt Plugins Holding Hands multiband saturation plugin is FREE for a limited time

Turnt Plugins, a developer focusing on no-fuss plugins designed to tackle a particular task, has released Holding Hands. This multiband saturation plugin for macOS and Windows is free for a limited time.

Although built with simplicity in mind, like the other Turnt Plugins releases, Holding Hands offers more precision control than you might expect from a free saturator.

Rather than taking the typical broad approach to saturation, Holding Hands offers five adjustable-range frequency bands.

Each of the five bands has seventeen saturation algorithms and five channel modes available.

The saturation algorithms, including Tape, Tube, and Transistor, range from very subtle harmonic richness to more obvious heat.

The available channel modes are Stereo, Mid, Side, Left, and Right.

You can see that the plugin offers ample variation, but the real versatility in having five adjustable bands is that you can target precise areas for saturation.

That precision is a great asset, even if you’re just adding some presence to any element of your track.

But, if you’re aiming for a more obvious effect in a sound design sense, it’s a great way to add saturation while maintaining certain elements of the original sound. The blanket saturation approach sometimes comes at the cost of losing the guts of a sound, or even some clarity at the top end.

Additional features include 16X oversampling, per-band de-emphasis, and draggable nodes.

One thing Holding Hands has in common with other plugins from this developer is an unapologetically retro interface, with shaggy-carpet styling resembling a 1970s dashboard.
